It is a Thai royal palace complex located in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. This palace began to be built during the reign of Raja Rama I, in 1782. Formerly this place was the official residence of the Kings of Thailand from the 18th century to 1945. Inside were various sacred buildings.
Now the King of Thailand does not occupy the Grand Palace as his residence. The Grand Palace is a popular tourist spot in Thailand, and is a major tourist destination in Bangkok. Lots of visitors crowded the Grand Palace every day. Although it is a tourist attraction, sometimes the Grand Palace is a place for traditional ceremonies. The Grand Palace is closed for tourists when the ceremony takes place.
The Phimanchaisri Gate, is the main gate to Middle Court in the Grand Palace. To enter the Grand Palace, you must buy a ticket that is available near the main door. Besides that you also have to wear closed clothes, both men and women. The Grand Palace is a very sacred place, so every traveler who comes must dress modestly. If tourists wear shorts and clothes that are quite open, it is necessary to replace them. If you have already brought short clothes, there are also some people who rent clothes for tourists.
Many tourists visit the Grand Palace. This Grand Palace is very spacious, and there are about 35 unique and magnificent buildings inside this Grand Palace which has an area of 500 x 300 meters. The Grand Palace is divided into 3 main parts, namely Outer Court, Middle Court and Inner Court. Don't forget to bring drinks in the bag, because surrounding the Grand Palace will certainly take a long time.
Inside the Grand Palace is the Wat Phra Kaew or Temple of Emerald Buddha which is the most sacred temple in Thailand. This temple is located in Outer Court, and is the main place in the Grand Palace. The building of Wat Phra Kaew looks very majestic with gold buildings illuminated by sunlight. Formerly this temple became a private temple of the royal family. Inside are statues that adorn the temple. There is also a famous statue of The Emerald Buddha in the Phra Ubosot building in the temple.
There are still so many buildings that will amaze you with a magnificent and amazing architectural design. Knowing the history of these buildings is also an impressive moral knowledge. Even though it was nearing the afternoon, the Grand Palace was still crowded with tourists visiting. Taking pictures with the buildings inside the Grand Palace is certainly an activity that is not missed by visitors.
